23/09/07 NUFC 3 West Ham 1 Mark Viduka scored twice, our win marred by another injury scare for Michael Owen. Viduka got in front of West Ham's Ferdinand to head us ahead from N'Zogbia's superb cross. Ashton volleyed the Hammers level following Lucas Neill's long throw but Viduka bundled in our 2nd from close range after more good work by N'Zogbia. James Milner was Newcastle's best outlet and he provided a cross which Viduka just failed to acrobatically make contact with, while Alan Smith shanked his shot as Milner cleverly cut the ball back to him. Goals from Martins, Luque (2!) and Milner saw a comfortable win, which unfortunately saw injuries to Butt & Taylor depleting our small squad further, Harper even coming on as a forward!
